What is a Programmer ?
A Programmer is the term used for a freelancer who will bid on the projects that are posted by project creator on the Savvylance. It can be of any type like Web designing, Software Programming, Script writing etc. Programmer will go through the projects posted by webmasters (Term used for the project creator) for the ones programmer would be interested in. Savvylance will keep programmer updated with the latest projects posted and he can place a bid on the project of his expertise. When the project creator selects a programmer, he will be informed and can start working on the project and get paid with the payment options available with us.
 

Contacting webmasters?
You can use the facility PMB (Project message board) provided by Savvylance for communication with the webmaster. If you post a private message, only the user it's addressed to will be able to see it, that user will also be notified by e-mail that you have message from (PMB) webmaster.
 

What if for whatever reason, the project fails? Can I get a refund on the project fee I was charged?
Use
this form here to submit a project cancellation request. You might be eligible for a refund.

Where can I find the message board?
Go to a project and click on the "view message board" link that is found above the list of programmer bids.

How do I change my account password?
Login to your account and click on the "Edit Account" link near the top. Then enter a password in the password field, and click the submit button.

How are rankings and points determined?
Points are calculated using a mathematical formula that considers, for each project a freelancer has participated in, the rating given to the freelancer and the amount of the bid. The reviewer's own total rating also affects, although much less, the points awarded to the freelancer.

Rankings are determined based on those points by comparing the points to other freelancers' scores. Only freelancers considered active are included in the rankings. Several factors determine active status on savvylance.com, including having received a review recently.

Please note that rankings don't necessarily represent the skills of the programmers compared to others, but is more of an indicator to how many projects they've completed and the dollar value of those projects.

When do you charge your commission and how much will it be?

As soon as you are chosen as the programmer for a project you have bid on it will be closed/archived and you will be charged 5% of your bid, or $5, whichever is greater.
 

Webmasters/Payments

How do I pay a programmer for a project?
You can transfer money from your
savvylance.com account to any programmer, just click the "transfer money" button in the account management area. You put money in your account by depositing funds into it by credit card, PayPal, check, cash or bank wire payment.

Do I have to pay programmers through my savvylance.com ?account?
No, you can pay them directly. It's just more convenient for you to use the
savvylance.com payment system. Note that you will still need to deposit money in your account to cover the commission we charge for completed projects. Thanks.
 

When do you charge your commission and how much will it be?
As soon as you choose a programmer for one of your projects (a winning bid) it will be closed/archived and you will be charged $5.
 

Do I have to add money to my account?
Not right away, but eventually you will probably have to. If your account balance is below zero dollars for more than 30 days your account will be frozen. You will not be able to create any new projects.

No, there should be no need to do this. Only programmers need to be paid.

Is there a fee to transfer money to a Programmer account?

What if I accidently transfered the wrong amount or transfered it to the wrong Programmer?
You will have to
contact us and explain your situation. We might have to ask for confirmation from the Programmer.
 

If the programmer ends up charging me less than he bid on my project, can I get a partial refund on the commission savvylance.com ?takes?

How does this work for Programmers?

Browse the list of projects posted by businesses for the ones you would be interested in, or have savvylance.com send you an e-mail anytime a new project is posted that fits under your expertise. Then you can decide to place a bid on the project, as well as provide details of the work you can do. Update or retract your bid anytime you want. When the project creator chooses a programmer (winning bid) you will be notified. If you are chosen you can begin work on the project and get paid.

What is a Programmer?

A Programmer on savvylance.com is the term given to a freelance expert interested in providing services. The term is used for users who will bid on the projects that are posted on the site, whether it's for software programming, web design, or marketing.

I can't submit a new project. After I submit the form, it brings me back to the account login area.

The cause of this is unknown, but you should have no problem by using the form found here.

Why are PayPal withdrawals not instant?

Because PayPal payments cannot be sent using server side software (it must be done manually by a person). Even if PayPal did make such a system possible, savvylance.com would probably not use it because of the security issue involved.

What if I have a question about a project (that will help me place my bid)?

Just post a message on the message board for that project. You can access project specific message boards by clicking on the link provided on the project page.

What if I didn't know what I did was a violation of the terms?

Too bad. It's your responsibility to understand the terms. You are asked to agree to them before signing up. Ignorance is not an excuse.

Why did I stop receiving e-mail notifications about new projects?

1. Make sure your e-mail is working, or try submitting a different e-mail address.

2. Does your savvylance.com account still exist? It could have been deleted for many reasons, such as not logging in for over 30 days.

3. Have you logged in to your account lately? Notifications are not sent out to accounts which have not logged in for 2 weeks.

How long does it take for you to send a withdrawal?
PayPal and Checks withdrawals are processed within 3 business days. Bank wire: 1-2 times a week (at beginning and end of week). Please do not contact us to ask when your withdrawal will be processed, we are very busy.

What type of projects are not allowed?

Any requests for copyright or illegal software, as well as illegal hacking tools and spam tools. You cannot post a project with the intention of advertising a product, service or website. If your project requires abnormal bidding (hourly bids, trades, etc.) it must be made a Featured project. All projects must be programming or design related.

What is the minimum amount I can transfer to a Programmer account?

Currently the minimum is $10.

What if I can't make an accurate bid? Can I just estimate how much I will charge for the project?

You should not make any estimates. The information provided should be enough to decide how long it will take you to finish the project. If there is not enough info, use the message board to ask additional questions to the project creator before placing your bid. Remember, by placing a bid you enter into a legally binding contract. If you abuse this system you risk receiving poor reviews by others, and possibly being banned from savvylance.com.

Why is my account suspended?

Most likely you violated our terms. Contact us for the details, and you might be able to have your account re-activated. IMPORTANT: Don't forget to tell us your username.

How do I pay a programmer for a project?

Why do I have to choose the amount of days until my project needs to be done?

There needs to be an end to every project, to leave room for new ones. But you can extend your project any time you want.

My username, password or e-mail address is not working.

Make sure to type it all in lowercase, with no spaces.

Why can't I find the "Place Bid" button on the project page?

If the project is closed it does not show up, because bidding has ended. It will also not show up if the project is frozen, which means bidding has temporarily been stopped.

What countries are the programmers on savvylance.com from?

Programmers signup from all over the world. All can understand the English language.

How much does this cost for Webmasters?

Why should I use the service savvylance.com provides?

Because we find customers for you, which might be the hardest thing for you to do, especially if you are a busy person. We already advertise savvylance.com. all over the Internet and attract many customers, all of which could potentially request your programming services. Even if you have many customers already, why not use savvylance.com as an alternative if you need more? You've got nothing to lose! Also, if you have ever had problems agreeing on how to receive a payment, you will benefit from savvylance.com. Webmasters can deposit money in several different ways (credit card, check, etc.) and you can withdraw money in many ways too, which means it's easier to get paid at savvylance.com!

Can I re-open a closed a project?

No, you will have to post a new project. In some cases we can re-open a project for you. Contact us with the reason and we will consider re-opening the project.

If I end up charging the project owner less than I bid on their project, can I get a partial refund on the commission savvylance.com takes?

Unfortunately, no.

Why can't I post contact information?

It would allow you to directly contact other members, bypass the savvylance.com project system, and therefore avoid paying any fees. We believe the fees we charge are very fair for the service we provide.

I submitted a withdrawal but I have not received the money.

This is because we process withdrawals manually. Please be patient as we get to your withdrawal request.

I made a deposit but it's not showing up in my savvylance.com account.

If you paid with a PayPal Echeck, the funds will only be added when it clears, which usually takes a week. If you paid with a direct PayPal payment, you might be required to confirm your deposit by clicking on the link sent to your PayPal account's main e-mail address. So make sure to check all your e-mail accounts for this important confirmation link. Please give our system a few minutes after your deposit to send this e-mail.

If you paid by credit card, we might need to verify it before it is added to your account. Please wait for an e-mail from savvylance.com about the status of your credit card deposit. Deposits are reviewed within a day.

If this does not explain why your deposit is not completed, contact us and tell us what method of payment you used, what name & e-mail you used, any order number or transaction ID you have, and your savvylance.com username.

 

Webmasters


What is a Webmaster?
A Webmaster on
savvylance.com is the name given to those people who post projects. They are the users who come seeking help from freelance workers. they may be an individual or a website.

How does this work for Webmasters?
After signing up, you can open a project and provide all the details of the work you want to be done.  Programmers will then be able to view your project and bid on it. This is similar to an auction, but there is no mandatory end date and you choose the winning bid yourself. Once you have chosen a programmer they will begin work on your project. That's it!
 

How much does this cost for Webmasters?
There is no signup fee and no monthly fee, but you are required to give
savvylance.com a commission on each completed project. The commission is a flat fee of $5.

Why should I use savvylance.com ?for my programming projects?
Because we will find you the best programmers at the price you want to pay. When you post a project on
savvylance.com, Programmers essentially compete for your business. It would take you a long time to request an estimate from as many programmers just by browsing the Internet, and you still wouldn't have any real competition going on. Here, programmers bid on your project much like an auction. They can place a new bid if they see another programmer has placed a lower bid than there's, this will undoubtedly result in a low price for you. Plus, with no up front fees at savvylance.com, you've got nothing to lose! Also, if you have ever had conflicts when agreeing on how to pay a programmer, you won't on savvylance.com. You can deposit money in several different ways (credit card, check, Pay Pal etc.) and programmers can withdraw money in many ways too, which means you don't have to worry about payments!

How do I cancel a bid I placed?

Log in to the account management area, find the project, and click on the "retract bid" link.

How do I contact savvylance.com?

I do not receive the signup confirmation e-mail, or any other e-mail messages from savvylance.com?.

Try a different e-mail address. To edit your account, login and click on the edit link.

Terms and Conditions

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Savvylance.com shall have sole discretion as to whether or not to  accept a particular applicant or site for participation in the service offered..

TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

Savvylance.com reserves the right to terminate the membership of any member or site without reason but exactly  including any member site that Savvylance judges to be in violation of the Terms and Conditions.

Members in violation of Savvylance's Terms and Conditions will be immediately deactivated. Savvylance may deactivate members with no prior notification. Members found in violation of the Terms and Conditions will not receive any credit or payment from Savvylance. Members that are terminated by Savvylance on any basis other than violation of these Terms and Conditions will not be entitled to receive any payment due from Savvylance.

PAYMENTS

Savvylance will  make payments and withdrawals if the member requests it and their account balance is more than $25. All payments  will be made in US Dollar. Savvylance verify all deposits and ask you to verify yourself; In case you fail to send required verification information either by E-mail, Fax or Phone, we reserve the right to refund the deposit and terminate your account. Savvylance reserves the right to stop a withdrawal if the source of the funds is suspected to be fraudulent. Any funds received from an account having made a fraudulent deposit  will be send back immediately. If in a fraudulent payment situation a withdrawal has already been processed, you will be expected to return the funds to your Savvylance account or face account termination. Savvylance cannot be held liable for deposits send back without its authorization due to reasons, including, but not limited to, fraud,  or complaints.

As already stated, any member or site that Savvylance terminate  from the service due to violation of the Terms and Conditions will not receive any payment.

ESCROW

Savvylance provides escrow as a free, bonus, and automated service only as a tool to help members transact more securely. We do not act as an arbitrator between parties, should a dispute arise, except in limited situations. Financial disputes should be resolved between members, or via another third party, and without Savvylance whenever possible. We do, however, reserve the right to cancel an escrow payment, at any time, if we assume we are left with no other option. We also reserve the right to complete an escrow payment if no response is received from the payer, after repeated contact for 30 days.

DEPOSIT DISPUTES

Members cam not file a complaint with one of our payment processors, including PayPal or Credit Card, Bank Transfer, regarding the funds deposited into their account. Savvylance staff will do its best to resolve any problem a member may have. Refunds will be processed, if seems necessary, at a time of Savvylance staff's choosing. Due to improper communication systems between our payment processors and Savvylance staff members, payment disputes logged directly with those processors  cannot be properly managed and will cause further delays. Due to this, members who make a complaint to our payment processor will face account termination without notice.

COPYRIGHT CONTENTS

Members can not use  copyright material to be posted on Savvylance. Only posting sections of articles or scripts, will be permitted.  This is meant to protect the author's rights. We also do not tolerate projects requesting unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted or patented material.

CHANGE IN TERMS & CONDITIONS

Savvylance reserves the right to change the member Terms and Conditions at any time. It is the member's responsibility to check these Terms and Conditions from time to time for such changes. In the event Savvylance offers any additional or replacement services then this agreement shall apply to such services in the absence of any new agreement specific to such services which is entered into between the parties.

PROPRIETORSHIP

Members agree that all information contained on a website operated by Savvylance, and all information compiled by Savvylance through operation of the affiliate program, is the proprietary information of Savvylance. Personal information provided by members to Savvylance will be kept confidential and will not be distributed to any third party.

PROVIDING CONTACT INFORMATION

Members agree not to post their e-mail address on the site, except in the "e-mail" field of the signup form, or when asked by Savvylance at any other time. There should be no need to give anyone your e-mail address. It is automatically provided if you choose a programmer (or you are the programmer chosen for) a project, and before that time you can use the message board to communicate.


You are prohibited from making direct contact with another member, unless it's for a project you (Freelancer/Programmer) have been picked for, or you (a webmaster/Project creator) have selected a programmer for. This includes giving out your e-mail address,  phone number, or any other method of contact outside the savvylance. Savvylance provides you with message boards, which should be sufficient for pre-project planning. The only exception to this is on "Featured" projects. If a project has the "Featured"  on it, that means the webmaster has paid a fee in advance, and you are allowed to provide contact information in the message board. 

BIDDING  PROJECTS

Programmers can only place bids that equal the total amount of money they are requesting for the project. You cannot post an hourly bid or any other abnormal type of bid. This applies to webmasters too. Webmasters cannot create projects that directly or indirectly require programmers to place hourly or other abnormal bids. The only exception, for both webmasters and programmers, is when the project is featured.

POSTING PROJECTS

New users are limited to the posting of only two  projects before being asked to make a deposit. This is meant to protect other users and prevent fraudulent activity. A user is required to deposit any amount of funds before they gain the right to post unlimited projects.

PROMOTING A PERSONAL  SITE

You are prohibited from promoting or advertising  your website on Savvylance. Any URL posted in a bid, project description, or the message board, must relate to a project on Savvylance. You can post your  portfolio,   resume page and other thing that relates to the projects.

ACCOUNTS

Any member may not have more than one Webmaster account and one Programmer account, without authorization by Savvylance staff. It is also prohibited under any condition too transfer ownership of an account.

AFFILIATES

Affiliates can only refer legitimately interested visitors, spamming is strictly prohibited. You understand that Savvylance can stop payment if it believes a referral's fee payment made is due to fraud or by other means. Savvylance reserves the right to limit participation in its affiliate program as well as withhold payment of commissions due to inappropriate activity on behalf of any involved party. 

REFERRAL COMMISSIONS

The referral commission paid out will be the one listed on the Referrals page (
http://www.savvylance.com/referrals.php). If the commission rate is changed, it will only affect referrals made after the new commission was announced. You may not refer yourself, nor sign up for multiple accounts to collect referral fees. If found, no commission will be paid and membership will be cancelled immediately without further notice.

THE SAVVYLANCE  ROLE

Savvylance acts as a map between webmasters and programmers in a virtual marketplace . As a neutral facilitator, Savvylance is not directly involved in the actual transactions between users of the Site. As a result, Savvylance has no control over the truth, accuracy, quality, legality, or safety of postings made by users. Because verifying the identity of a user on the Internet is difficult, Savvylance cannot and does not confirm the identity of users. Savvylance also does not confirm nor verify the qualifications, background, or abilities of users. Therefore, We recommend that You be careful and exercise common sense and good judgment when dealing with any member on the Site. You are encouraged to review our Project Guidelines before taking part in a project. If you are unsatisfied with another member, the most Savvylance can do is refund the project commission you have been charged by us. We cannot refund the money you have sent to someone, we are not responsible for your transactions. Savvylance is not responsible for any fraudulent payments made by users and cannot be held liable for financial loss incurred from fraudulent transactions. It is the receiver's responsibility to verify the identity and background of the sender.

LEGAL ISSUES

Members are responsible for legal issues related to the work product or process and any postings on Savvylance. This site is governed by the laws of the Province of New Delhi, any legal action against us shall take place in the courts of the New Delhi.
